Chapter Service and Activities

The Pentagon Chapter focuses primarily on service to our active-duty and retired military members. Below is a sampling of the projects and activities we are involved with in service to God, Home, and Country. See photos from some of our activities on the Photo Album page.

Historic Preservation

We participate in the collection and preservation of genealogical records, which includes tombstone transcription, collecting family bible records, and researching local resources for genealogical data. This information is compiled and maintained by our national society.

The Pentagon Chapter is interested in the preservation of all history—not just genealogical—including military-related architecture, historic places, and placement of markers at important sites. Our purpose is to ensure that our military history is preserved not just to honor our servicemembers, past, present and future, but to also preserve the history of the institution along with its defenders.

Service to our Chapter, State, and National Society
Chapter Programs

Bi-monthly, the Pentagon ladies gather for an event outside of our normal meeting. These outings usually center on a local historical landmark.

Members who are 40 years of age and younger may choose to be a page at district, state, and national events. This is a great route for young members to intimately learn about the workings of the NSDAR and to meet other Daughters of a similar age from across our nation.
